The details about ZoeFafa is below: The company ZoeFafa is an African fashion accessory company . The company is very unique in that the designs carry a blend of African and international theme. Furthermore, the uniqueness of the products includes the use of special hand knots for its products, the good play of colors in its products, the high quality of raw materials used, the good finishing of each product, excellent packaging, and durability of products. ZoeFafa, officially founded in March 2011, started solely with shoe making. It was founded by Ms.

Fafa Amegah, who is passionate about fashion and style. Ms. Amegah is a graduate of the Arts School of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) . Her motivation for this business began at an early age during her Senior High School but it w as not after the completion of her undergraduate studies that this idea became a reality. The shoemaking industry in Ghana is male dominated and not very accommodating for female entrepreneurs like herself. Even though this was the case, it never discouraged her. The other reason she got into this business was that she faced problems when shoe hunting. She recalls the frustrations she had to go through getting the perfect fit shoes with the right fashion. The company cu rrently lacks sufficient labor force. Due to this, there is sometimes delay in delivery of items, which affects taking up huge contracts. The company has so far trained two individuals in the shoe making business. Unfortunately, there has not been a good roll out plan in retaining them to work for the company. The company has customers in Poland, South Africa, Canada, USA, UK, Nigeria but has not been c onsistent mainly because of the difficulty in getting the products abroad. Vision The vision of the company is to be one of the lead ers in authentic African designs and trends in the world. Mission Its mission is to communicate Ghanaian fash ion through its clothing and accessories within Africa and the world. Products &Prices Some of the Products include: Beach sandals, Slippers, Catwalk footwear, Custom -made footwear, Ladies bags, Dinner wears, Hats / Caps, Jewelries, Wrist watches, Wrist bands, Be lts, Key holders, Beaded bracelets and many more. (Please see the exhibits for pictures of some of the products and sample prices ) Compare these two bracelets below A. B. Picture of the bracelet in A was taken in a shop in Canada. The cost of the bracelet is about 16 USD excluding taxes . The bracelet in picture B is from ZoeFafa with a price of GHS 50 which is equivalent to 8.6 USD. There is a difference i n quality and price. Sample B is of higher quality , superior design but lower in pr ice . An average footwear takes a minimum of 14 days to put together for delivery. Delivery is mostly done through c ourier services or in person, depend ing on the choice of clients. Marketing & Advertisement Social media forms one of the core advertisement platform for ZoeFafa. Regular posts are made on all the social media handles of the business. The official Facebook page is ZoeFafa on Facebook (https://web.facebook.com/ZoeFafa1) , @zoefafa1 on Twit ter and Instagram , via WhatsApp messenger and some local sites like Tonaton, OLX amongst others. These platforms have helped expand the network and customer database. Future Projections In the next five years, Ms. Fafa will want to see ZoeFafa breaking g rounds internationally and becoming very competitive in the global market by improving its supply chain. The Task: As consultants you are hired to advise ZoeFaf a on how the company can expand internationally and how it can move into other areas to increase revenue and make it more sustainable. Using the concepts learnt in the class and others , prepare a report to address the challenges. Your responses should incl ude but not limited to : - Perform a SWOT analysis on ZoeFafa (i.e., internal supply chain operations and external business environment) - Proposed supply chain solutions to ZoeFafa - How to overcome the challenges of acquisition of raw materials . The raw materials are not readily available on the market as they require a long chain to transporting them from their source to the main cities, thereby leading to high cost of the materials and the end product. - Production and delivery of end product delays. ZoeF afa is currently run solely by the CEO with minimum help from some colleagues as there is not much funds to hire extra hands. As a result, there is production delays in the delivery of the end product to the client sometimes, thus limiting the business in taking up huge contracts. SCM3230: Global Supply Chains Pg. 11 Course Project Guidelines Detailed Instructions for Group Presentations The course project will be presented ( about 20 minutes, +/ - 5 minutes ) during the tutorials , followed by 5 minutes of Q&A . The presentation topic must be the same as the task allocated to your group in the course project; The dates of presentation for different groups will be indicated in the course project sheets; All students within the group must present ; any students who do not present will get zero marks for the presentation part . Also. Students within the same group would receive the same grade. Thus, students should ensure that ALL the group members are actively contributing to the project; All presentations must be conducted in a respectable manner (although formal dressing is NOT necessary); It is assumed that you use Powerpoint (ppt or pptx ) for your presentation. Having say so, you are welcome to use any other presentation styles, e.g. , Prezi, posters, video , marketing samples/materials, etc., but the presentation must not be out -of-scope and lie within the indicated timeframe .
