About me:

I graduated 5 years ago with my BSN and have worked in healthcare for a little over 5 years. I went back to the same school where I got my undergraduate and decided to go back for my Master in Business Administration degree combined with Master in Nursing with emphasis in Healthcare Leadership. This program was a dual degree program where I gradute with two master degrees. I am currently a staff nurse on a progressive care telemetry unit where we have various patients taking care of post cardiac catheterization patients from the cath lab to ventilator dependent patients with tracheostomies. We have alot of total care patients on the floor most of the time. I have also been a relief charge nurse for my unit for the past two years, filling in positions when the charge nurse is not working. When I am charge nurse, I oversee a floor of 32 very sick patients and max of 15-20 staff members including nursing, sitters, and patient care technicians. In this position, I work along doctors and report and work with house supervisors and patient flow administrators to ensure a smooth shift. I prepare for the upcoming shift with preparing their assignments and working with case managers on patient issues.
