A link to the recordings can be found on the unit’s Moodle site (to find it, go to the unit’s Moodle site, press contr ol + “F” on the keyboard of your computer and type in “recordings”) Tutorial assignment Q: I cannot make it to the tute in which I am assigned, can you help re -assign me to a different tute time? A: Sorry to hear about this problem. But the unit's policy is that only genuine conflict with students’ other academic activities at Monash can be accommodated. We receive a large number of requests for tute reassignment each semester and it is impossible to accommodate all individual circumstances.

Your best bet is to keep checking a lloc ate+, most of the time someone would drop out of the time slot you are interested in, which opens up a spot. Q: Can I move to a tutorial that I am not assigned to? A: No . The tutorials are capped for a reason and often this is because there is not enough space in the classroom or computer lab to accommodate more students. Assignment Q: Can I get an extension for the assignment? A: Sorry to hear that you are struggling t o meet the assignment's due date. The only way to obtain an extension for the assignment is through submitting a special consideration application to the unit coordinator (https://business.monash.edu/students/admin -information/policies -and - procedures/special -consideration -policy/special -consideration -process -for -students ). Please explain what the emergency is in the application and provide the necessary documentation to support it. Q: The word limit for the assignment is 2 ,000, is there a penalty if I go over? A: There is a 10% tolerance, e.g., if the word limit is 2,000, the highest word count wi thout incurring a penalty is 2,200 . 2 Q: I accidentally uploaded the wrong document. What can I do now? A: Email the unit coordinator and your tutor ASAP to provide a detailed explanation of what the problem is and attach the correct version of the document with the email . We will make a decision whether to accept the new document (based on the nature of the issue and how much delay there is in the new submission) Q: Do I have to be part of a team (group) for th e team assignment? Can I submit the team (group ) assignment individually ? A: No. Occasionally, exceptions are made for things outside students control (e.g., team members dropping the unit in the middle of the semester). But for this to happen, you need to acquire an explicit approval from the unit coordinator. Un -authorised indivi dual assignment submissions will receive a 20% penalty Q: Can I work on the team (group) assignment with my friends in another tute? A: No. Students can only form teams with students in their tutorial. Q: My team (group) members are not doing their shar e of work. What can I do now? A: Managing team work is an important learning outcome of team assignments. If you are not satisfied with the performance of a particular team member, call for a team meeting and have a direct (but respectful) face -to-face con versation with the team member. To help us adjudicate any potential disagreement that might arise further down the road, put things down in writing and keep a paper trail. For example, at the beginning of your collaboration on the assignment, clearly spell out the deliverables for each team member and the deadline . Email the document to all team members so there is a record. If you have a team member who exhibits a pattern of skipping team meetings or not meeting the agreed timelines for intermediate s teps , communi cate with him/her and save a record of the communications Q: For assignment 2, does the word count limit apply to SPSS outputs? A: No, you can exclude SPSS output (tables, graphs, etc) from your word count 3 Exam Q: Is there a sample exam ? A: The unit does n’t provide whole sample exams. Instead, we make available a large number of sample exam questions from previous exams. The lecturer will go through these sample exam questions in week 12 lecture. Try to attempt these questions on your own prior to the lec ture. Q: I cannot believe that I have failed the exam. Is it possible for me to get the results checked? A: All marks are very carefully considered before publication, especially fail grades. This is done because published results are not negotiable. Why are fail grades not able to be reviewed on student request? Because we take fail grades very seriously and each fail grade is already extensively reviewed. In your case, you failed the u nit because you failed the exam. All exam papers that initially result in a fail are marked again by a second marker, and the results discussed in detail at Boards of Examiners meetings in both the Department of Marketing and the Faculty of Business and Ec onomics overall. A: Once the results are reported to the faculty (business school) and released to the students, they are final and any changes/alternative arrangements need to be approved first by the faculty.
