Template

Introduction* – Set the stage for the diplomats** attending the conference on reducing global economic risks associated cybercrime and cyberwarfare. You might consider defining cybercrime and cyberwarfare as some of the diplomats might not know what those two concepts mean. You should also explain the purpose of the briefing statement - explaining why wealthy nations and developing nations should work together to improve cybersecurity for the globally connected networks referred to as "the Internet."

Why Developing Nations Should Have a Cybersecurity Workforce – Include three (cited) examples that explain the most important reasons for why developing nations should have their own cybersecurity workforce. Keep in mind that the three reasons are not likely the same as why wealthy nations (i.e., the US) should have same. Make sure your examples are relevant to developing nations.

Training and Educating the Developing Nation Cybersecurity Workforce – Include three (cited) risks to wealthy nations if the developing nations do not have an adequately training workforce. Your three examples might refer to a scenario where a developing nation had a cyber problem that negatively impacted a wealthy nation and show how training and education might have prevented the problem.

Non-Governmental Organizations and Cybersecurity – Find at least one non-governmental organization that is currently helping to develop a global approach to incident response. Again, this section should expand the boundaries of the US and address an entity that helps global governments and businesses. Make sure to cite your example.

Summary – Recap at least three key points you made in your briefing statement. This should be a separate paragraph.

* The rubric uses the following statement for the introduction, “Appropriately paraphrased information from authoritative sources.” The ‘s’ on sources implies at least two sources in your introduction. And remember, the introduction is a separate paragraph.

** Your audience is a group of diplomats (technical and non-technical backgrounds) who are participating in a conference. Make sure you explain any technical concepts you include in your statement.
