This is a life coaching class I have attached two posts I need academic responses too. They should be positive in nature and they only need to be a couple paragraphs apiece.
(The original question.)
What are some resources (books, journaling), you are already familiar with, that you could recommend to a client? List some resources and what type of client each would help. How will you maintain a list of resources for a variety of clients?
Post 1
Class,
At this time, I do not believe that I can actually recommend any resources that includes journals and books to clients at the moment. The majority of the knowledge and experience I have gathered in my life has been done through trial and error. Although there are a lot of websites that I have used to learn and develop my understanding of life coaching I do not think that sharing such may be useful to a client but who knows it may be. I hope that I do not get penalized for not having a list but I have not practiced any real-life coaching outside the military. Although I can provide the Army Manuals and Regulations that I do use with Soldiers for their professional and personal development and encourage them to read so they can become better counselors themselves when the time calls for it.
ADP-6-22 Army Leadership (Focuses on counseling). This is a vital manual as it helps the Soldiers and leaders understand the dynamics of leadership and effective counseling.
ADP-5-0 Operations Process (Focuses on the Military Decision-Making Process). Sometimes when I have counseled Soldiers they come to me because they have done poor decisions in life and the MDMP is a great tool which allows anyone to look at their situation, analyze their choices so they can make a well-informed decision.
The above military manuals are ones that I use regularly. I tend to be by the book type of person and as long as I am counseling and providing leadership by what the Army dictates and adding my personal touch has gotten me great results. As I transition from military to civilian I am sure I will run across many resources I could recommend a client but that is still years away. For the time being my clients will continue to be pro-bono and be my military brothers and sisters.

There are many resources to recommend however it is highly personal and depends on the person and what is their reason of visiting me. I usually keep several copies of my favorite books so I can just hand them a copy.
Personal growth favorite recommendation to every human being would be:
The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz
This book is a treasure to all individuals who wish to become a better person and a freer version of themselves. The concepts are universal and will not offend any background or religious belief.
Metaphysical concepts and past lives I will refer to these classics:
Many Lives many masters Brian Weiss
Journey of souls, Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton
The Convoluted Universe by Dolores Cannon (books 1-5)
Law of Attraction:
Ask and it is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
Anxiety and fears:
I usually hand them a free copy of my book, Freedom from Anxiety: A holistic approach to healingby Harry Kroner
Relationships:
Esther Perel has amazing wisdom and Ted talks.
