Military Veterans 1 page 1. Introduction - San Diego has a large military presence The military presence here in San Diego, California is large one. The population of active duty and their family members total just under 200,000. The Navy and Marine Corps make up the majority of the branches of services, Coast Guard ____. The Marine Corps hosts one of the two recruit training commands in the United States, were approximately “20,000 young men who attend recruit training annually, 2,200 permanently assigned active duty members.” (NBCnews) The Navy is home to five base in San Diego, Naval Submarine base, where numerous submarines are homeported. Naval Station San Diego is homeport to a large number of ships and the sailors that call them home during their assigned tours, deployments can last up to nine months. Naval Base Coronado hales aviation squadrons, helicopters, aircrafts are supported by aviation crew assigned to one the squadrons. Naval Air Station North Island is where the Navy Seals participate in the specialized training.
Marine Corps Naval Air Station Miramar, is where fighter jets are part of the training that takes part at the base, home to several aviation squadrons, the marines support the various ongoing missions. Camp Pendleton is the Marines' biggest land and/or water capable preparing facility. b. Most military have established San Diego as their homestead c. Military who separate or retire remain in San Diego for DoD federal jobs, weather, etc ....

Own experience as a patient (Veteran and family member) and a medical provider (VA) 2 pages 5. Ideal System - All healthcare for Military retired personnel should be directed to the VA. All dependents health care covered by Tri-care should be directed to civilian hospitals/facilities. Naval hospital and military medical clinics should only care for active duty military. For both Retired and Dependents/family members referrals to a specialist in the civilian health care.
