Boeing Company

Introduction

This paper is about Boeing Company. Boeing Company is an aerospace company incorporated in July 1934. By scope of business engagements, it is the largest aerospace company in the world and its activities include designing, creating, producing, supply, servicing and maintenance of public and commercial aerospace equipment (Albers et al., 2017). However, this assignment focuses on the effects of globalization and technology on the success of the company. In addition, the ways in which internal operation models and the resources of the company contribute to the global success of the company are also discussed in this assignment. .

Globalization

The expansion and growth of the corporation into a global franchise has propelled the company to enter into productive partnerships and mergers with other companies as an approach of overtaking and dominating other global aerospace competitors like Embraer, Airbus Group, Bombardier and Northrop Grumman among others. To achieve the huge global status, the company works in partnerships with other companies, like the Lockheed Martin Corporation with which they jointly process, operate and train in in airspace activities with the shuttles of the US space shuttle (Goetsch & Davis, 2014). In its partnership with National Aeronautics and space Administration (NASA), Boeing is the chief contractor and supplier for the International Space station. Another partnership that has enhanced Boeing’s global business presence relates to its engagement in the Multinational Sea Launch Company with the focus in the growth of commercial space like the construction of a space based telecommunication service. However, the two most significant partnerships that propelled Boing Corporation as a global outfitter are the partnerships with the Rockwell International Corporation and the McDowell Douglas Corporation. Essentially, it is industrial partnerships and mergers like these that have enhance the global power of the Boeing Corporation and its success as a global business entity.

Technology

Technologically, ingenuity exercised in the company with regard to the technological advancement in production activities sets the company apart as a highly innovative venture. Additionally, the global services of offered by the company involves the use of modern technologies that enhances their training and logistic programs to the customers in the world over. As a matter of vitality, its highly technologized logistic services are used in programs such as the AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook, F-15 Strike Eagle and the F/A-18E/F. These programs are very modern and highly needed by both domestic and international customers since they boost in the modification, upgrading, modernization and modeling of aircrafts to the efficient new levels as desired by the customers. As such, the demand for the services and products by Boeing are always high and on the rise (Albers et al., 2017). This is due to technological innovativeness prioritized by the company in all its sectors.

Industrial-Based Model

By nature, Boeing is a public corporation licensed by the government of the United States of America through the US Federal Aviation Administration to carry out for-profit businesses as well as contributing to the welfare of the people through the creation of jobs and the expansion of space and air transport-based studies. As a way of gaining a competitive edge over its competitors, Boeing has prospered in the perfect competition global setup in the realm of aerospace industry (Bowonder et al., 2010). To remain effective in its operations, the company continues to gain and to maintain new markets while maintaining and modernizing its primary markets like the US and the UK markets. Further, the company has properly established several workable industrial policies that have led do profitable mergers and partnerships over the years. These joint operations have led to the technological distinctions that the company employs in the manufacturing of its products.

Resource-Based Model

In addition, the company has formidable resource based model that has proven successful over the years with regard to its profitability. Based on this, the company has effectively used its human, capital and technology resources in integrative ways over the years to earn its financial competitiveness (Albers et al., 2017). Moreover, the company has a steady supply of technologically capable labor unit composed of skilled executive and technical personnel of over one hundred and forty thousand worldwide. Additionally, its capital base is always stable due to the huge returns it gains from its diversified-techno intensive activities.

Vision

Boeing Company has been coming through on its vision to transform the global aerospace arena by founding and financing various aerospace training facilities in Europe and in America. These programs have led to the training of many current and future aerospace professionals including engineers in various departments and pilots and operators of aircrafts and other space equipment like missiles and rockets (Bowonder et al., 2010). Moreover, they are sponsoring programs of intensive workforce development initiatives that avails several capable professionals to the general job markets annually. Significantly, the diversified training programs contribute to the transformation of societies all around the world. Its culture of preparedness for the future business has contributed to its durability and stability.

Mission

Additionally, the company is in the mission to revolutionize the air transport industry and the military weaponry facilities. On this basis, it has continued to supply various modernized aerospace equipment as well as working in partnership with various international and national agencies to attain new heights in the aerospace industry (Goetsch & Davis, 2014). Over the years, it has offered its logistic and expert services to the governments of several countries in the military realm by supplying them with equipment, servicing and maintaining their equipment through its defense space and security unit.

Stakeholders

All the stakeholders in the Boeing Company make significant contributions to the growth, expansion and the progress of the company. In specific, the stakeholders include the customers, the executives, employees and partners. As start, Boeing’s customers include the US airlines, the US government and customers from over 150 countries allied to the government of the United States. Reasonably, this huge customer base leads to the high demand for the services and products by Boeing (Goetsch & Davis, 2014). Furthermore, the executives execute the implementation of the company strategies that result to the attainment of company goals in addition to initiating partnerships with other governments and corporations. Numerically, Boeing has more than 20,000 highly innovative executives whose duties involve engineering and program management, execution of programs on development and creation of technology, finance management and the enhancement of value and productivity.

Further, Boeing company employees more than 140, 000 people worldwide composed of more than 50,000 engineers whose roles involve actualization of the innovative ideas presented by the executive body and maintenance of equipment within the company and those owned by the customers. Due to the availability of diverse potentials, the company operates effectively in all the areas of operation (Bowonder et al., 2010). Lastly, the partners help the company to advance effectively especially with regard to technology. Due to partnerships with other aerospace companies and automobile manufacturers like Rolls Royce, the company is able to create and advance its technological resources to meet the demands, the expectations and the aims of the customers and partners without experiencing insufficiencies relating to capital, human and technological resources.

Conclusion

Overall, the Boeing Company manages to remain the strongest force in the global realm of aerospace technology. The company, through partnerships with other companies and other governments throughout the world has managed to revolutionize the defense and commercial aerospace arena. Importantly, its reliance on great engineering and technological innovativeness for almost a century has made their services and products to remain the leading in terms of quality. Moreover, the exclusive abilities of the executives enable the company to honor contracts by delivering to its partners and customers effectively. Nevertheless, it has maintained its competitive edge by offering the leading and cutting edge products and services with proper organizational skills portrayed by the executives.
