. There are three different estimating techniques were discussed in the case.

Three-point estimate: This estimating technique has happened between Barbara and the estimating group regarding the task that’s needs to complete in twelve weeks using one grade 7 employee full time. But Barbara has done same task previously on other project and it took fourteen weeks to complete.

Triangular distribution: This estimating technique has happened between same Barbara and the estimating group. She thinks that the three point estimate was way off of the rank. And the four weeks would be for a very small project. Now the estimating group suggested the triangular distribution.

Analogy estimating: when Barbara met peter regarding the task he suggested the analogy estimate but it takes 16-17 weeks him to complete.

2. As a project manager, her scope is to complete the task. But when project has to be completed in twelve weeks with one grade 7 employee full time. When estimate group responded that they used three-point estimate where the optimistic was four weeks. Here project manager can eliminate the three-point estimate technique because she has done the same task in previous project which took fourteen weeks by using full time employee. Noe the estimate group responded with the triangular distribution which can complete it by 13 weeks. She eliminate triangular distribution too. At last when she met peter and discussed about the task and explained everything to him. He responded with analogy estimating. Because he is a grade 9 and considered as a SME and if he works he can complete in 16-17 weeks. Project manager should discuss with SME who knows the project very well so that they can estimate the time for the work.

3. If I’m a Project manager I would take suggestions from the SME (subject matter expert) who knows whole project very well and they can suggest me the time estimations for that project and they can suggest me in hiring what grade employee can be suitable for this project.
