You may wish to consider Part B of the assignment in making your selection in order to maximise the future potential o f your work. Collect information about the positive and negative impact of this company from publicly available documents (e.g.: sustainability reports, company reports, ASX or ABS reports, media coverage, and any other credible source). Part B: SDG Work Integrated Learning (WIL ) Placement Application (500 words 10%) You have decided to apply for a role as an SDG consultant as part of your Work Integrated Learning (WIL ) placement. You are to prepare an application letter, outlining your knowledge of and capacity to manage in a sustainable, socially responsible and ethical manner. Use the FMCG company you researched in Part A of this assessment, as your potential employer. Page 3 of 8 In your application letter, you will need to explicitly articulate your knowledge and capacity to manage in a sustainable, socially responsible, and e thical manner , as the key selection criteria for the WIL Placement . Explain how you believe a WIL opportunity as an SDG consultant in the company will further develop your capacity to manage ethically. For example : Include examples of the work and analys is you have performed in Part A of this assessment. This will allow you to provide evidence that you have the relevant knowledge, experience and aptitude to work within the company as an SDG consultant. Company choice is “first come, first served” , this means that if another student has chosen the company before you, you must choose another company as the basis of your assignment. Please also also note that any attempt to circumvent this process (ie: by using a slightly different nomenclature for the company) will result in your choice being deemed “null and void” by the Unit Chair – it is your responsibility to review the list of previously chosen companies prior to registering your choice. Abstract (approx. 200 words; not included in word count) Type a short abstract that brie fly describes the purpose of the project, and what the main findings are. (You may want to do the abstract once the assignment is done.) Introduction (approx. 100 words) This section must cover two main things: (a) a brief introduction and background to the study For the introduction and background, you must provide a brief introduction to the reader about the assignment, its relevance and importance etc. (b) the objectives of the study You need to clearly state the key objectives of the assignment. Body of the report (approx. 2300 words) Address the key areas identified in the assignment task and discuss from the perspective of business ethics (i.e.: you are expected to integrate your understanding of the content of the course). You should allocate appro ximately equal weight to each of the areas specified (i.e.: 1(a, b & c), 2 and 3 = 750 – 850 words per question). Conclusion (approx. 100 words) Write a short concluding comment which reminds the reader what the main purpose of the research was, how you w ent about addressing the objectives of the study, what data you used and the main findings were. Also write a short paragraph on the main limitations of your report…i.e. what is/are the main weaknesses of the study which you would like to bring to the attention of the readers. Appendix 1 – Part B SDG WIL Application Letter (500 words) Additional appendices are acceptable if relevant to the main report. Supporting diagrams Use tables and diagrams where appropriate. All tables and diagrams must be numbered, labelled and briefly explained in the text of your paper e.g. “Table 2 shows the GDP growth of the main economies ....” Font Use a 12 -point font. (Times New Roman or Arial). The report should be 1.5 line spaced w ith an extra line space between each paragraph. Please use page numbers and indicate at the end of your report the word count. Word Count The word limit is 3000 words (report proper: 2500 words and SDG WIL Application: 500 words) and will be strictly adhe red to. A 10% penalty (from the available marks) will apply for deviating from this word limit.
