Classmates,

  1. Describe yourself: My previous experience working in a group or working in a group setting is mostly with Liberty University Online courses and at work. During my undergrad degree at Liberty University many of my high level courses required to work on group projects together. That gave me the opportunity to work with others on group projects and assignments. From a work perspective, many of the projects I work on is typically in groups. We work together on certain assignments/responsibilities to allow a more sufficient outcome.

My personality is pretty much laidback. I don’t get too excited or overwhelmed about things in life. Since I am such a laidback person, what annoys me is impatient people. I would call myself a thinker, I think before I act and I do have moments when I over think. I believe impatient people should try to be more patient and think things through so that they can master objective. My boss at work would describe as a person that low maintenance, work well with others, and a person he can rely on.

  1. Communication Expectations: My personal viewpoint on acceptable response time is within 24 hours. Since our time is limited and this is group project that affects several individuals, I believe the best approach is to have individuals respond within 24 hours to allow process continue efficiently. I do believe it is necessary for individuals to check the Group Discussion Board on everyday basis. This will make sure that everyone is engage so that when we get our final grade on our project no one will be disappointed. I don’t believe conference calls or are necessary but I do believe we should exchange each other cellphone numbers so that we can get in contact with each other much faster. Unfortunately, Blackboard doesn’t notify me when people post thread on the Group Discussion. The online chat will be our mainline of communication, this will allow our professor see our communication with each other so that he/she know who is making an effort.

  2. Behavioral: Specific behaviors that will allow us to be successful in completing is each individual taking ownership in their work quality and taking responsibility in submitting their section of the assignment in a timely manner. I would like others to describe my quality and quantity of my effort by understanding I deeply care about my work so I will make sure that it is great quality and also efficient amount of quantity. My conflict resolution style address the issue straight forward so that we are all on the same page so that we don’t submit any assignment late.

  3. Flexibility Expectations: I have daughter that just turned to two years old so I know there will be times when she will need my full focus so I have to make sure that I am flexible with everyone else. Flexibility means to me understanding that you goal that you have to reach and that there will be bumps in the road. You have to be understanding of other people circumstances to be flexible. I think if someone is feeling ill they will need to let the group know promptly so that there will not be a delay in submitting the final product we are working on.

  4. Performance Expectations: I think that everyone work should be reviewed by themselves prior to submitting to the Group Discussion Board. That will eliminate time spent on editing/reviewing. I think everyone writing should reflect their highest standard, not necessarily a MBA level of writing because for some individuals this might be there first class. The final group project grade that I desire is an A. I think if seek for anything else lower than “A” I am setting myself up for failure. I dedicated to this class and group to make sure that I contribute sufficient amount of work so that it will result in A. I want to be known in this group that I provide a high standard of quality of work.

  5. Expectations about Timelines: I think being timely is the most important aspect in working in a group. Timely means that you will submit assignments in a timely fashion so that we all have the opportunity to review/edit the assignment.

  6. Final Submission: The final submission of the group project expectations is that it our highest quality work that has been reviewed by each individual so that we will have the opportunity to speak up. I think the final submission should be submitted at least 48 hours before the deadline to allow any minor edits that need to happen can happen. I don’t think it necessary for everyone to submit I approve reply; I believe that everyone should be engage by leaving comments and suggestions so that we know the final product is our best. I think the best way of submitting the final assignment is prior to the week beginning I think the team lead should send out the expectations of what are the expectations for this week so that no one will miss a deadline.

  7. Conflict Resolution: Since I am laidback I don’t have too many disagreements. I think the best way to approach the disagreements it to hash it out when one another sharing different opinions and then coming to conclusion. I do agree that majority rules when deciding on something. I agree that any disagreements will need to be resolved as soon as possible and never be afraid to get our Professor involved.
