After reflecting on concepts presented in this week’s readings and video, prepare a PowerPoint presentation for a city council or school board critically analyzing the sense of community from the perspective of public/government relations. Address the following in your paper:

  • Based on your experiences, explain whether you prefer the classical republican model, classical liberal model, or a combination of both.

  • Determine how this perspective supports an understanding of the relationship between the public and the government in promoting a healthy community.  Provide examples to support your thoughts.

  • Explain if it is possible to promote a sense of community by being value neutral. 

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.

Support your presentation with at least 4 scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included. 

Length: 12 slides (with a separate title and reference slide)
Notes Length: 100-150 words for each slide

Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate.

Your analysis should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
