Original Question

How will you set aside the appropriate amount of time (identify, implement, and score) for the assessment in order to provide appropriate feedback to the client?

(Answer 1) By Penny

In my coaching practice, I will include assessments in my intake session. Beginning with self-assessments, which is a great tool in finding out a lot about the client and this will present an opportunity for the client to possibly discover what goals he or she would like to achieve in the future (Ewald, 2013). Additional assessments will be administered depending on the need of the client, when using assessments, the coach and client can develop a way to reach and obtain the desired goal (Ewald, 2013). I will set aside at least two hours for the assessment process, depending on the length of the assessment, additional time will be allotted, if needed for my client to complete assessment. Depending on the type of assessment given, scoring and feedback and implementation may vary.

I want my client to feel comfortable and not pressured while taking the assessment, also, there’s no right or wrong answer. I will assure my client that completing the assessment and feedback session is the beginning stage of our coaching process toward reaching his or her individual potential (MBTI, 2018).

(Answer 2) By Chandra

In order to identify the correct assessment, I will have an initial meeting, which should take an hour or so, with my client to determine his/her needs, wants and goals. After chatting with my client, I will research and select the appropriate assessment, some of which only take approximately 15 minutes or so to complete. Once my client has taken the assessment, I want to take approximately a day or so just to reflect on his/her answers then make a goal plan to talk over with my client. In order for my client to be successful, I want to make sure I have the right information and plan so my idea is to identify, implement and assess him/her within a week of our initial meeting.
