Child Care Center

Laronda Simon

Unit 9 Final Project

11/19/2018

My dream has always been to have a child care centre of my own this is because I have this great love for children and would wish to spend as much time as I can with them. Suppose I am asked to choose another business then it would be a park for the children, a library or a kindergarten. All this are businesses of my choice that if it was possible I could establish them all at the same time. I believe that in my ideas of business I can at the moment venture into two due to the startup capital;

• Child care centre

• Kindergarten

The above two business ideas are the ones I can manage to start but the two ideas below require quite a lot capital that are beyond my capability though they are still business ideas that I would so wish to venture into in my near future based on the progress of the other businesses above.

• Children Park

• Library

Comparing a kindergarten and a child centre they are all businesses that I would wish to venture into and I have equal opportunities to start one of them but I will go for the childcare due to the fact that it has more marketable opportunities (Irwin et al 2017). There are a couple of kindergartens at the area where I intend to venture my own business and literally, no single child care centre and that was a great gap I could invest on.

Since I found out that I was able to raise the capital enough to start a childcare centre I decided to venture into it as a sole entrepreneur reason being if I decide to join a partnership with another person the person may not have the same passion towards children as I do meaning we may have different objectives of the business (Pacera et al 2017). The kind of business I would wish to start is one which I offer services and in this regard take care of the children. I will need to understand the law that governs child care business and due to this contact the local child care referral agencies to be sure of what is legally required from me (Robson et al 2015). My business will need a license which will be general for my business and another for the child care also a check for the people who will be working with me and a health permit for the health condition of the place my business will be located.

Little Angles child care centre will be the name of my company that will focus on giving the toddlers a place they can feel at home and a place they can be happy to be at and in the same measure giving parents an easy time to balance work with their little children. The mission of my business would be to provide the most secure environment for the children and a place where they can feel at home and most especially a place they would always wish to be. The vision of my business would be to help reduce the stress to the parents on how to take care of their children and still provide for them. My business’s slogan would be “keep the child always smiling”. I believe that with time my business would be grown enough to establish a kindergarten and maybe a children’s park.

When opening the business I will be targeting over fifty families in the neighbourhood who and even more who I believe are working and have toddlers to be taken care of and are not yet of age to join kindergarten. I will ensure I have well-trained workers who have the passion for children and would work towards achieving the objective of the business; this would be possible through drafting a human resource policy that will have to be met by my employees (Tandon et al 2015). I will need to estimate the amount of money I will be using for the expenses and compare it to an estimate of the amount I plan to make on a monthly basis. A good financial plan will automatically lead to the success of the business. I will need to allocate at least 36% of my total earning to paying debts or even the workers, save 10%, maintenance allocation of 10%, at least 30% for investment and the remaining amount allocate to insurance cover (Lusardi et al 2014). I will be charging on basis of hours, for instance, $10 per hour and operate on a 24-hour economy so as that I may be able to meet my financial target. After meeting my target and saved enough money I will expand my care centre business to a kindergarten and a care centre at the same time.
