5. Designing a Digital Learning Unit Plan

Develop a Digital Learning Unit Plan. The unit must include learning activities which introduce new content, directions and resources needed to complete the unit. It must include activities and resources to guide students through working with concepts and building skills. The unit must require students to collaborate and provide them with the resources and support to do so. It must result in the creation of a product which demonstrates a thorough understanding of the concepts and meets the learning standards.

The unit must include the following elements:

● Three Flipped Classroom assignments to introduce new material.

● Three sets of classroom activities which follow the Flipped Assignments using technology in the classroom.

● A mini (summative) project which requires students to use digital tools to collaborate and present a product which demonstrates understanding.

The unit plan must be structured as follows:

● Objectives and Outcomes

o Describe the objectives that you want students to achieve by completing this unit of

study. Explain what you want students to be able to do when they have completed this

               unit.

● Process/Procedure for Learning

o Describe the steps that students will take through the learning process. What activities

will they engage in during the learning process? What resources will they use?

● Standards Addressed (Common Core, Content Area, ISTE Students and Teachers)

o List the learning standards that you expect this unit to address. Make sure that you

include content area standards and ISTE standards for students and teachers.

● Assessment Plans (including an appropriate rubric)

o Describe where assessment takes place in the unit, either formative, or summative.

Include formal tools such as checklists, learning targets and rubrics.

● Reflection

o An extensive discussion of how this design for learning supports student achievement.

Describe how the tools used, help build skills and a deeper understanding of content.
