Read the rules of courtly love as explained by Andreas Capellanus in the lecture link.

How do the rules compare and/or contrast with the views put forth in Plato's Symposium?

Compare=how two objects/entities/ideas are alike

Prof s Intro to Discussion: Perusing the rules of courtly love make for a fun read--and discussion.

Important: Though some rules may seem almost ridiculous to the modern reader, remember the seriousness with which such matters were considered in French courtly life in the era of Capellanus (late 1100s),

Peasants, of course, had social mores that differed from the courtly.

Enjoy, but give the comparisons and contrasts sober examination as well.
