2-3 Final Project: Milestone One

SOC-326-Q3488 Sociology of Deviant Behavior

Dr. Jeff Houser

In nature, the study of human social interaction is a value-free science. This may involve the study of behaviors practiced by people while in a given population, For example, the interactions of the working class include a way of finding a living, and a breathing entity in and itself. This is because people should do work mainly because they have to ensure their comfort and the comfort of their families. However, prostitution is a current deviant behavior and should be reclassified as a non-deviant act. I chose this theme because it occurs through people interactions and it is considered a deviant act that puts individuals to commercial sex industry. The final project will examine why prostitution should be reclassified as non-deviant. Non-deviant for the thesis will explain why prostitution is an acceptable profession. Deviance that develops from social potential problems is in many times frightening to many as the society is scared of what it never understands when it is involved to uncharted state. Prostitution thus delegates to a profession that involves engaging to sexual activities (Ditmore, 2011).

The reasons that will make the proposed project justify that prostitution should be reclassified as non-deviant is because prostitution actions are not regulated and therefore remains to be a flourishing career among ladies and also to some men. Moreover, prostitution within the society is greatly classified as a deviant act since it entangles human beings exchanging their bodies for gains. To some extent, although it is a career that indicates worry, it should be reexamined to protect all members who benefit from it and support basic human rights. This means that those employed to participate in this career should be offered health benefits, assured safe practices, and anti-stigmatizing affliction (Rainwater, 2011).

The project will reclassify prostitution acts as a non-deviant because it is allowed by legal authority agencies that will make it continue to exist for years. Although most sex workers are frightened by the task they do and therefore they keep demanding regulation and justification. In summary, with the above reasoning, it will be easy to justify the prostitution is a non-deviant behavior in the project (Bryant, 2011).
