https://www.phillyvoice.com/victory-brewing-new-beers-23rd-anniversary-twisted-monkey/

This article is about Victory Brewing Company, a brewery located in Downingtown, PA. The brewery will be releasing three new beers to commemorate its 23rd anniversary. This was interesting to me because Victory is popular in the Philadelphia area which is where I'm from. When I first began drinking, I didn't even know what Victory was - I usually just drank any light beer I could get my hands on. Now, however, I can see how local craft breweries in my area are gaining popularity. It is pretty cool how these beers are created using all different types of fruits and other ingredients, which means that there is basically a beer for everyone. I think it is only a matter of time before the craft beer industry will be able to compete with the big guys such as Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors.

This article is all about Sake, which is Japanese alcohol that we learned about in class. In class, through the movie and some discussion, we focused most on the production of sake and the immense work and dedication that goes into creating the alcohol. The article I chose focuses on the other side of sake; using and consuming it. It talks about how its served: in porcelain glasses called tokkuri and sometimes other containers such as rice containers (more rare). On top of that the article discusses the drinking behavior when it comes to Sake like how when you're drinking with someone you should be serving it to each other and how some people warm or mix their Sake in different ways. The article briefly touches on the Sake making process that we learned extensively about in class, but also taught me about the social and behavioral aspects of Sake.

https://www.mongolia-trips.com/5-most-consumed-traditional-drinks-mongolia/

When we talked about Mongolia in class, it is an amazing region. It has very long history and as I know it is somehow related to China, as well as in alcohol. This article mentions five most consumed drinks in Mongolia, not all of them are alcohol, but airag is definitely the most famous one which we talked about in class. As we were taught in class, airag is made of fermented mare milk, it is an acid-taste drink and very little alcoholic. Not only the drink itself is special, the cultures with the drink together should also be paying attention at. When someone propose airag to you, you should take it with your right hand, and with the left hand holding your right elbow. Moreover, the article also mentions some other drinks such as Suutie tsai, and Arkhi. Even though they are not alcoholic related to our class, they are still parts of the Mongolian cultures that worth to learn about.

This article articulates that in Japan there is a traditional alcoholic beverage known as Sake. Sake originated in China then transforming and spreading to Japan utilizing the fermentation of rice for production. Also, during 1868-1912 sake breweries were established being able to flourish through Japan, later diminishing. To this day in Japan it is illegal to be involved in home-breweries without having possession of a license. Sake has diversified to the expansion in China, Southeast Asia, North and South America, and even Australia. There is an annual holiday on October 1st entailing the worldwide celebration of brewers and followers to commemorate Sake Day. Relating this article to what we covered in class goes back to the video about the exploration of a brewery and how sake now made with mass production of fermented rice.
