Here are my suggestions for the final research paper. Also I have attached the guidelines and outline.Hypothesis: Your hypothesis is too complex and needs to be revised.  You have to chose a position

The Impact of Stress on Overall GPA

Literature Review

Importance of topic: Why is this topic important or interesting?

The topic of this research, the impacts of stress on the overall GPA will help identify the various stressors and determine whether there is any relationship between stressors and the grade point average point in the general learning setting. The study will inform the development of learning design by curriculum developers by suggesting ways cultivating positive stress such as motivation and improved performance and consequently improve learning pedagogies.

Summary of research:

This study is informed, guided and assisted by three research works done by the past, which provide more information on the aspects of the topic under research. These research works include;

Good, D. J., Lyddy, C. J., Glomb, T. M., Bono, J. E., Brown, K. W., Duffy, M. K., ... & Lazar, S. W. (2016). Contemplating mindfulness at work: An integrative review. Journal of management, 42(1), 114-142.

Good and others investigate the various components that result in conducive learning environments to the human mind. This work, by the group of scholars, will inform this research on defining the neutral and positive states of the mind which facilitate optimum learning in learning setups.

Karren, K. J., Smith, N. L., Gordon, K. J., & Frandsen, K. J. (2014). Mind/body health: The effects of attitudes, emotions, and relationships. Pearson.

This article gives the connection between mental stressors and the consequent mental states such as negative attitudes, negative perceptions, and other learning-inhibitory psychological states. The research will inform this research on the metacognition that affects the learning exercise by students.

Phillips, C., Baktir, M. A., Srivatsan, M., & Salehi, A. (2014). Neuroprotective effects of physical activity on the brain: a closer look at trophic factor signaling. Frontiers in cellular neuroscience, 8, 170.

Philips and the two other scholars go deep into the chemical processes in the brain that lead to mental changes and as result affect the learning processes. They suggest that stressors result in chemicals that alter the normal functioning of the brain leading to affected learning of the subjects.

Hypothesis: Stress, both positive and negative, in their various forms, positively or negatively correlates with the learning process of students and therefore affect their general point average in their learning contests.

Provide operational definitions for all key terms in your hypothesis:

Positive stress- In this study, the term will be used to refer to certain stressful states that are pleasant to the mind but have different effects on the learning process.

Negative stress- This term, as used in this research implies the unpleasant sensations which affect the learning process in a given context.

Mental well-being- This term will be used to refer to the positive state of the mind which promotes the process of learning by the learning subjects.

Method

Independent variable: The independent variable, in this case, is the respondents' general point average in the tests given.

Dependent variable: These are the various stressors subjected to the participants in this study.

How will you select your participants? The participants of this research will be selected through the simple random process. The study will involve thirty-six participants.

How will you randomly assign participants to groups? – To divide the research group into an experimental or control group, I will assign each respondent a number. Those with odd numbers will be put into the control group while those with even numbers will be placed in the experimental group.

Experimental group: This group will be subjected to stress aspects.

Control group: This group will not be subjected to any positive or negative stress.

How will you measure your dependent variable? This will be done by averaging the different tests assigned to both groups.

How will you obtain informed consent? Informed consent will be obtained through a letter which will be read aloud to the participants and those willing will sign against their names.

Results

What is your predicted outcome?

Participants subjected to stressors will generally resister lower grade point average compared to those in the control group who did the tests under normal conditions.

Discussion

Briefly discuss any ethical concerns you have regarding your proposal: Informed consent will have to be obtained first from the respondents. For those who have not obtained the minimum consenting age, the researcher will obtain it from their parents or guardians.

Briefly discuss any potential confounding variables: Chilly or gloomy weather may lead to inaccurate conclusions by the researchers. Poor weather will subject participants to stress, even those in the control group.
