Windows ME (Millennium Edition) is Microsoft's operating system launched on September 14, 2000. Windows ME was developed specifically for the home users. According to Microsoft, Windows ME was an update of Windows 98. It has more functionality for experienced users and intuitive interface for beginners (Rouse, n.d.).Windows ME was Designed backwards to compatible with Windows 98. Windows ME worked with the earlier version's applications and drivers. Improvements over Windows 98 include functions to enhance system stability and error correction, as well as features designed for digital media, home networking, and online experience. This enhancement is called PC health (Rouse, n.d.).

On the other hand, there was a negative impact and failure being rush to release the product. The rush to release this product made it half- baked. The downsides of Windows ME were: completely unstable and filled with bugs, No final build on the internet explorer and the removal of DOS mode (“5 Reasons Why Windows Me is Viewed as a failure”, 2014). Consequently,Microsoft sold this product for only one year. This rush affected Microsoft's reputation and the the market at large (Lloyd, 2013).
