M8A1: Final Project: PowerPoint Presentation

While we say that this final project is a PowerPoint presentation, keep in mind that the presentation is a package deal: the slides support what you will be saying; they do not replace, nor do they say it for you! The Notes you have provided will give your instructor context to imagine you actually making the presentation.

Parameters: Reference the grading rubric to assist you in structuring your PowerPoint.

  • Slides and accompanying words tell a sequential story about your learning.

  • Slides are well organized, forming a beginning, middle, and end (with an introduction and a conclusion).

  • Citations are included on slides and in the reference page.

  • All graphics and photos are cited.

  • Presentation is cohesive overall.

  • Slides are easy to read and appropriately formatted for the presentation, including font and color choices and other design elements.

  • Mechanics of writing are correct: grammar, spelling, syntax and punctuation.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 10 informational slides, not to exceed 15! (not including title and reference slides)

  2. Accurate content that reflects the use of AT LEAST 7 peer-reviewed sources (from the Excelsior Library) that are clearly relevant to the presentation. You may recycle some but not all from your essays and discussions.

  3. Sources must be properly cited using APA style (either in slide text or in the Notes). See the Excelsior OWL (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. and/or the Purdue OWL (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for guidelines on APA style citations and references.

  4. A list of all your sources must be provided on a reference slide. Please see the EC Library Liberal Arts Reference Guide (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..

  5. Graphics that are relevant to the topic and help further convey or illustrate the concept.  Remember to cite your images, graphics, and/or illustrations.
