Research Question: What Impact does technology has on global communication?

Communication has remained a key component in the lives of human beings. The ability to relay information among societies has brought many societies together. Technology has remained a key pillar in connecting people from different parts of the globe. Technology has introduced a wide range of communication mechanisms which are more effective in bringing different cultures together (Pooch, 2016). For example, social networking has made communication easier and faster and this has brought different cultures together. As a result, technology has given rise to a new culture that revolves around interacting and associating with one another through the web. This culture is an amalgam of many cultures around the world which has continually encouraged global diversity. Therefore, understanding the impact of technology on global communication remains a significant concern.

Social media has been in the frontline in facilitating global communication. Historically, distance barriers had remained a major obstacle which separated people on the basis of their geographical locations. Social networking has continually reduced the distance between people and as a result, people are now able to keep in touch. This has been done for various reasons including personal communications, social interaction as well as corporate communications.

Social networking has enabled families and friends to be close to each other regardless of their geographical location and time. This has encouraged more people to move and reach out to other regions without the fear of being far away from their relatives. Social interaction has also been facilitated by social networking by bringing people from different social classes together. Also, corporate communication has become easier and faster and as a result, companies can now exist in different geographical locations and still offer their service (Fredman, n.d.).
