Law Enforcement Process

Over the last years, the city of Oakland has been met with diverse challenges in the law enforcement process. Police departments, as well as judicial systems, have been working together for the last years to ensure that Oakland residents acquire justice as per the set laws enacted by the constitution. Law enforcement goes a long way in ensuring for maintenance of law and order, economic stability as well as community relations. I, therefore, find it vital to make an in-depth analysis regarding the act to ensure that fairness prevails in all concerned stakeholders. In Oakland, The Woke Police Departments has been on the front wheel to ensure that citizens are well protected and criminal activities are reduced to a substantial level (Hamm, Trinkner & Carr, 2017). Apart from this, as the director of the department, it did come to my attention that teamwork and employee relations are a crucial factor for any organization to survive.

After conducting various statistics and research, it did hit our attention that one of the factors jeopardizing our operations was police racial profiling. Police racial profiling refers to how police officers and law enforcement bodies tend to target individuals for criminal behavior basing their judgments on national origin, religion, race, and ethnicity. Citizens had been filing lawsuits for a rather long time relating to the issue. As the director of The Woke Police Department, I profoundly felt that such a vice was undermining our ability to provide realistic services to the community. The Police officers that was against the vice began to resigning from their positions since they could not handle the stigmatization that comes with racial profiling (Haider-Makell, 2017). Our donors also began viewing the department as incompetence hence gradually started withdrawing their support and sponsorship to the organization. It was thus essential as the director to quickly come up with strategies that will earn back our reputable image in serving the community.
