  1. The reason I chose this/these assignment(s) as evidence that I met the Student Learning Outcome is:

A basic understanding the process of research at it relates to evidenced-based practice changed my thinking as I now prepare to graduate. This class has taught me the importance of methodical study, research, and the value of evidenced-based care. It is important that I keep going with this method of study and frame of mind to provide quality care for my patients and their families.

  1. As a result of completing this coursework I have gained the following knowledge, skills, and/or attitudes regarding this Student Learning Outcome: 

The learning and professional growth in the context of the course and the course objectives allowed for an appreciation of evidenced based practice. The course provided the necessary terms, tools, and application needed to “make sense of it all” and feel more confident in moving forward in my profession to improve care that not only affects patients, but families and caregivers as well.

  1. The way that I am going to incorporate this new knowledge into my practice is by:

The professional development and the research tools provided to me from this class enable me to be a leader in healthcare that patients deserve and prefer; healthcare that is scientifically and evidenced based. I am going to incorporate this new knowledge by not sitting on the sidelines watching things happen. I now have the tools and leadership skills required to manage and coordinate safe, quality care.

The course work assists me to connect to future goals by remaining ethical in all areas of my nursing practice, implement change in my place of employment, and use what I have learned to step up and step out, and to accept and help facilitate change. Communication and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team involves team leadership skills in order to communicate well, be flexible with change, have a sense of inquiry, and innovative characteristics.
