Simulation Extension and Presentation – Border and Immigration
Case Assignment
Throughout this Capstone course, the student will first be assessing and then extending the simulation. In the Cases, each paper will discuss the extension of a different mission area. Address the following:
Describe the DHS mission area “Border and Immigrations.”
Discuss how this simulation can be extended by enhancing the mission area for “Safeguard and secure cyberspace.” (Hint: Compare to a current Emergency Operations Plan. Some scenario examples in this area include overwhelming cyber issues on resources, an organized cyber attack, or a computer virus.)
Include references to some recent cybersecurity examples and the impact upon the people, community, or region.
The DHS website defines these five homeland security missions:
Prevent terrorism and enhancing security
Secure and manage our borders
Enforce and administer our immigration laws
Safeguard and secure cyberspace
Ensure resilience to disasters At this juncture, you have learned a substantial amount of information regarding Homeland Security. Therefore, this course provides the opportunity to incorporate your knowledge into professional presentations.

Module 4 covers the DHS mission areas “Secure and manage our borders” and “Enforce and administer our immigration laws.”
