JUS 325: Final Project Guidelines and Rubric Overview The final project for t his course is the preparation of a paper based on a topic you will choose from the provided list. The paper represents an in -depth study of one area of concern in the subject of families, the law, and society. The project is divided into three milestones , which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure high -quality final submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules One, Three, and Five. The final paper is due in Module Seven. Choose a topic for your final project from the following list:  Domestic violence  Incest  Antisocial orientation theory  Routine activity theory (RAT)  Corporal punishment  Cycle of violence  Child molestation Outcomes This assessment will evaluate your mastery with respect to the following course outcomes:  Gain insight into the impact family law relationships have upon the civil and criminal justice system  Review both common law and statutory principles guiding family law issues  Discuss obligations involving custody and support and the enforcement thereto  Review and analyze the various bases for marriage, its dissolution, and the rights of the respective parties  Assess and analyze how family law issues affect the police and judicial systems with requests for protection, remedies for vi olence, and the enforcement of support awards  Judge the role of law and state authority in the tra ditional family province Milestones Milestone One : Topic Selection In Module One , you will submit your selected topic to study for your final project . Your submission should include a brief description of your topic. ( You will choose a topic from the list provided in this document. ) This milestone is graded pass/fail, and your instructor will provide formative feedback. Milestone Two : Annotated Bibliography In Module Three , you will submit a bibliographic reference section in APA format . Bibliographic means that you will create a short summary of each source. Milestone Three : Narrat ed PowerP oint Presentation In Module Five , you will submit your narrated Power Point presentation drawn from all information collected to date including suggestions and corrections from the instructor. Final Project Submission : Final Paper In Module Seven , you will submit your final paper drawn from all information collected to date including suggestions and corrections from the instructor. It should be a complete, polis hed artifact containing all of the elements listed in the critical elements of this document and should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course.
