  1. Open your file from your Unit 8 assignment.

  2. Save a new baseline for your project.

In this first scenario, we will assume that you have started the project and one week has passed. You have received a status report from everyone and all tasks are on schedule. To indicate this in your Microsoft Project file, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Project tab, click Status Date.

In the second scenario, it is the conclusion of the second week. An early project task is 90% complete. Another early project task needs an additional 5 days in duration or 40 hours of work (depending on how you have entered your task data). A third task was completed during the reporting period. To make these updates in your Microsoft Project schedule, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Project tab, click Status Date.

  1. Set the Status Date to exactly two weeks after the project start date in your Unit 8 file.

  2. Select an early task in your project schedule and from the Task tab, select Update Tasks from the Mark on Track drop down.

  1. Set the percent complete to 90%. Click OK.

  1. Increase the Remaining dur: field by 5 days.

  2. Click OK.

  1. Set the percent complete to 100%, set the Actual Start: to a day within the reporting period and the actual finish to the status date (regardless of the scheduled duration of the task). Click OK.

In the third scenario, a Hurricane went through and closed the office for 3 days. Complete the following steps to reflect this is the project schedule:

  1. From the Project tab, click Update Project.
