Work Experience Presentation
Time: 10-12 minutes (including questions and answers)
Possible attendees: Faculty mentor, Work Experience Supervisor, English faculty, other students
The presentation is usually in the College in the first week following work experience.
Your College mentor will inform you of the time and place of the presentation.
Topics to be covered:
Company information
Information sources, equipment and software used
Tasks performed
Skills used
Workings with others
Challenges or problems in the work place
Personal development
Summary and reflection
Students should be aware of all presentation techniques including:
Correct English
Body language and posture
Including all the required information
Using the notes to present the topic, not just reading
Keeping the audience’s attention
Visual effects (design, images)
Time management
Managing the audience’s questions or interruptions
Always have a conclusion
Preparing for the Presentation
Work with a friend. Practise giving your presentation. Your friend can help you improve your presentation and ask you questions.
