Example 1

Summary -Robin Hood and his Merry men have run into a huge dilemma. Robin relied on robbing all the businesses that came through his forest, but they became aware of his game. They proceeded to just walk around the forest which may cost more to do but keeps their products. On top of that the Sheriff is hot on his tail, and his followers are not following like they used to.

Issues- There are a decent amount of issues, but the main ones would have to be the Sheriff and the Businesses avoiding his forest.

Alternative Solutions- Most would just suggest simply killing the sheriff, but a new sheriff would just be appointed so that solution would not last very long. Easiest and most affective would be to adjust his business plan.

Actions- Robin should plant his men in different locations of the forest. If this forest is the only way these businesses can get to their locations, then they would have no choice but to get robbed. Also, the Sheriff would struggle to locate where exactly the Merryman are hiding.

Personal Takeaway- The business world will throw a lot of curve balls at you but the businesses that stay alive are the ones that adapt to they’re new consumers. There is a reason that Sears is going out of business and Wal-Mart is still a thriving company.

The Tale of Robin Hood

EVERY blog post needs to: (1) have at least one (more is better!) hyperlink to a related, outside source/story (needs to open up in a new window); (2) have at least one (more is better!) high-quality 1

Summary

Robin Hood's plan to "steal from the rich and give to the poor" is affected when the sheriff with the help of Prince John and King Richard shut off ways to the trail in which the Merrymen rob, causing the idea of a taxation from farmers or their "allies" to stir up emotions between the already fast growing Merrymen camp.

Issues

The main issue is that their way of business is being affected because they are not able to rob those who pass through the trails due to the loud mouths of the over grown band of Merrymen and their notoriety with the sheriff.

Alternate Solutions

Robin Hood brings up the idea of taxing those who use the road (including the poor) instead of taking everything from them which can cause issues within the band and ultimately having to change the reasoning behind what they do.. Another solution that could solve this would be to send men out to the alternate routes being taken that way they can continue to keep everything they get to give back to the poor.

Actions

If they were to follow Robin Hood's plan, it would mean they would taxeveryone that would take the trail but cause issues within the men. The action they should do to not have to change their purpose would be to send men out to the other trails throughout the forest to avoid taxing the poor and continue stealing from the rich.

Personal Takeaway

What I took away from this article would be that no matter the ideas you choose, you can not always please everyone and must choose whatyou believe is the best idea.

Example 3

Summary

Robin Hood leads a revolution against the Sheriff and his administration.  The group is called the Merrymen and have a motto of "Rob from the rich and give to the poor".  However, Robin Hood has become concerned with the growing number of the group.

Issues

Food is starting to become more scarce and their finances are declining due to more food purchases.  Travelers are becoming aware of the thefts happening in the forest and are now avoiding the paths.  The Sheriff continues to reign and has a lot of political connections like Prince John.

Alternative Solutions

In order to continue to steal and gain revenue, Robin Hood could divide his Merrymen into two different groups.  One group can stay in Sherwood Forest, while the rest can move into another forest.  This will lessen the amount of resources used in Sherwood and provide the second group with new resources from a different location.  Robin Hood could deploy men to the areas around Sherwood forest in order to intercept the travelers avoiding the Merrymen.  This would increase supplies and the good being confiscated.  Robin Hood could kill the Sheriff to get rid of him.  This would draw a lot of attention to Robin Hood and bring forth many consequences.  Robin Hood could capture Prince John and collect ransom, but this is too dangerous.  Robin Hood could create a tax for the travelers going through Sherwood forest in exchange for protection.  The tax might help them gain revenue, but this would go against the groups' motto of stealing from the rich.

Actions

Robin Hood should move men to an alternate forest in order to free up some resources being used.  Dividing the group will make them easier to manage and disciple.  Gaining more area allows the groups to intercept more travelers as well.  The decision to move does not interfere with their current motto either.

Personal Takeaway

Breaking down the case into different sections helped me look at the whole picture in order to make a good decision.
