Health Care and the Law - The Laws Protect!

Health Laws are created to protect patients and to prohibit fraud by health care providers and others with business relationships. There are laws specifically for payors (insurance companies), health care vendors (equipment, drugs, and so on) as well as the health care clinicians (physicians and clinical staff).

Health Care Organizations such as hospitals and long term care facilities that provide these services are also governed by specific health care regulations. Violators of these laws can be fined and or imprisoned.

To sum up, health care laws are set up to regulate the delivery of care and health care operations.
