Information Governance (IG) refers to the management of information in an organization. This helps in operational transparency, legal compliance, and reducing expenditure that results from legal discovery. It is quite evident that computer-mediated communication (CMC) has taken center stage in work life. E-mail is still the preferred form of CMC within most organizations. The impact of e-mail on regular working days is essential basing on the difference between face-to-face and e-mail communications (Franks, 2018). The preference of mail is based on the following issues; bridging of physical distance due to a speedy response using the internet. Knowingly, the internet is a quick medium that allows the company to reach different departments and employees within one delivery. The other aspect is being two-folded, this can be an influential cue while interpreting a message. Furthermore, it is quite easy to be anonymous while communicating on the internet. Also, nicknames and pseudonyms are used while creating e-mails accounts of the company. Finally, the company will experience no physical interference and long queues, unlike face-to-face communication. The essence of feedback gained from the use of email adds up an advantage as it gives resource fueling and motivation at work.

Existence of non-verbal cues in email communications gives a priority as to why most organizations prefer using it rather than phones and face to face communications. This gives strictness on the communication to just the message delivery but no other issue to be addressed between the employees (Singh & Sapre 2008). In conclusion, it is evident that email plays a crucial role in everyone’s daily work life. It has facilitated and enriched daily business due to its ease in exchanging information. Email communication Is neither a resource or a demand by itself.
