Be in-depth and not cursory in your treatment of the material. Do NOT base your discussion forum solely on your own personal opinion. There are theories and rules regarding ethics and philosophy that must be adhered to. Do not provide a personal opinion unless asked for.
2. Reflect/resource the reading assignment providing definitions, examples, illustrations from the "then" or the historical/cultural context under consideration in the material.
3. Demonstrate analytic thinking and critical analysis in which you actually demonstrate that you understand the material and that you can evaluate the strength/weaknesses/relevance of the material under consideration and that you can defend your concurrence or difference with the material with sound illustrations, examples, from the various areas addressed in the question/material under consideration.
4. I always look for not just data but for evidence that the student understands and can analyze the material. For instance, why is the issue under consideration relevant for my area of study? Are there manifestations of this cultural reality from the past in the contemporary context? Are there modern day parallels? If there are not, then why not? If there are not is culture stronger or weaker because of it? Make sure to cite each part properly.
