PART A – Dimensional Modelling and Star Schema {30 marks} Pick one of your sales receipt from your recent shopping trip to the mall . D esign the dimensional models based on the receipt . Your report should include: 1. Identify the Facts 2. Identify the dimensions 3. Determine the Grain 4. Draw the star schema 5. Include reports that can be generated from your dimensional model 6. Discuss the drill down capability Some design issues that should be addressed when writing the report: a. How would you handle date/time related requirements?  Sales on a given day  Sales during the evening rush period  Sales during the morning shift b. Is there a customer dimension? c. How do you handle the Bar code on the receipt ? d. Is there an employee dimension for the cashier? e. How do you handle the VAT amount? f. What about the payment type? g. Is there a promotion dimension? Instead of a sales receipt, you could also pick a utility bill from (SEWA, DEWA, Etisalat, ...) and complete the report using the same criteria as above and at the same time address the design issues. PART B - Tableau {40 marks} Analyze data using Tableau . Choose a data set from samples provided in the public libraries . Include the following: a. Describe the data set b. What type of analysis would you do on the dataset and g ive reasons for the chosen type of analysis c. Include charts (screenshots) , and a suitable dashboard d.
