Coffee Lounge Tommy Caddell asks you to develop a Web site plan and design to present to the Coffee Lounge staff at the next scheduled staff meeting. You will have to do further research to define the target audience as well as to develop content for the site, as the business has not yet generated any informational materials. Use the notes you made from your research on coffee bars and the Portland scene.

  1. Construct a list of goals for the site.

  2. Define a target audience and a user profile for the site.

  3. Complete your market research. Review at least eight Web sites, including coffee bars; art galleries; sites geared at your target audience; sites about Portland,
Oregon; and sites about the local music scene.

  4. Write a paragraph documenting the findings from your market research. Include
the URLs of the Web sites that you visited.

  5. Compose two end-user scenarios for the site.

  6. Develop an information category outline for the site.

  7. Create a flowchart for the site.

  8. Develop a concept and metaphor for the site. Be creative, but make sure that your
metaphor will support the site goals.

  10. Create rough sketches of two layouts of the site. Write a paragraph explaining which layout you prefer and why.
