Resume Writing Rubric:

25 points possible

On one page only (1pt)

Word document with 11 to 12 font size. Your name may be larger font. Use ½ to 1 inch page margins. At very top, your name, address, phone and email.

Also identify the name of the job you are applying for

(1pt)

Most critical information at the top quarter of the page: (16 pts.)

  • The full name of your BS or BAS degree,

  • Your credentials (spelled out) that directly apply to the job description and the credentialing agency they originate from (spelled out)

  • Any work experience directly related to the job description

  • MSSU EH coursework that directly applies to the job description

Lower three fourths of page (6) :

  • Any skills or abilities you have that are needed in the job description

  • Non-directly related work experience that shows you are dependable, responsible and productive

  • Related organizations you belong to

  • Awards, distinctions (if any)

Focus on the "requirements," "skills" or "qualifications" sections of job descriptions, and look for “buzzwords” and desirable credentials that you can match up to or will soon be attaining.
