Tuberculosis in the lives of factory workers in Bangladesh

Questions: A. Recommend how leaders of the population should incorporate guidance from global health policies and organizations into reforms.

B. Recommend interventions that could be implemented in the population to help mitigate or address the health challenge. Be sure to explain how your recommendations are culturally sound.

C. Defend your recommended interventions with support from applicable fundamental global health theories

Answer: In my opinion, it requires global cooperation in response, planning, prevention, preparedness, and care that reflects health equity issues among nations. These issues require complex interprofessional and interagency cooperation and solutions that involve governments, non-profits, and many times include private companies and foundations. Factory workers are considered expendable and they are not very respected as apart of society. With business and export being at stake because of rapid loss of workers, there is more attention being given to the issue of tuberculosis infection. There needs to be more genuine concern and change permitted in order to succeed in decreasing the spread of tuberculosis. There needs to be intervention combination use to get to the core of total eradication tuberculosis, no one intervention can address every issue that contributes to the problem. According to the Trans-Theoretical model human social and behavioral actions are cyclical and not linear, so is need for more than just a few programs and interventions. Also, the Health Belief model is a model that addresses community perceptions and its relation to initiating behavior change. The stronger the individual's health belief, the greater the likelihood of adopting the healthy behavior. I recommend that Bangladesh takes a start intervening in the workplace, work their way out into the living quarters and creating less crowded modes of transportation. Reaching out to the World Health Organization (WHO), and other countries that can help with funding could also help and give some insight on how to better fight the epidemic of TB. It will not be an easy or quick task, but it would be a great start.
