Different human service agencies face quite a rampant turbulent as well as some uncertain environments when working in diverse places in the world, whether abroad or in the US. As a human service worker, I would say that questions concerning the performance, efficiency, as well as impacts, usually go up at the same time where both competition and demand are rising as well (Fisher, et.al, 2017). The tool that I have selected is the Conner’s Scale for Assessing ADHD. A person could have noticed that their child has problems or difficulties in school while socializing with other kids. If this is the case, the child could have ADHD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Izzo, et.al, 2019). The parent is asked by a psychologist to complete the Conner’s scale. The form is used if both the parents and the doctor agree that the child shows basic behaviors of ADHD habits. The doctors will gather diverse details regarding their child’s home life to diagnose the disorder best.

This form asks several questions concerning the child as well as their lives. This helps the doctor gain comprehension of their habits and behaviors. By the analysis of the responses given, the doctor is in a better place to determine if the child has ADD. In addition, the doctor may look for any signs of academic, behavioral, or emotional disorders. These could consist of dyslexia, aggression, or depression. 

The main purposes of the Conner’s Scale for Assessing ADHD are to:

My topic of interest is on figuring out the effectiveness of the juvenile justice system on lowering the delinquency rate, specifically those that undergo legislative waivers. These studies are of more significance as they mainly give extra information concerning the effect of the legislative waivers on juvenile offenders. This gives a viewpoint of ways the device wishes to be changed regarding the identical. Many interview inquiries consist of the program and the service that is offered in an agency. Questions are, what are your responsibilities? Who are the people who receive the services, and how are they connected to the agency? Do you feel the juvenile children are ready to get back to the community and become productive? From your personal experience, have you ever worked with any discharge plan that deals with correction and, was it effective? What are the requirements that one needs to be able to access the services that are offered in the agency? Does the agency that you work for a charge, and if they charge, how much is the charges? Name the common barriers that the clients face and, what are the strategies that you apply to assist them in dealing with these barriers? What time or the duration it takes for the clients to receive the services that they need, and according to you, do you feel it is sufficient? Can you state any policies or laws that restrict the successful ex-offender re-entry back into the community? What do you think will need to be added by the professional to make sure there is successful re-entry back into the community?

The interviewees may be the contributors of the judiciary and teens who are juveniles, and those that are in rehabilitation. The questions will contain important questions and associated questions that are related to the center question. For the interview facts to be captured more successfully, the interviews may be recorded. This method allows researchers to collect open-end data to explore the respondent’s thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about the topic in question.

Some tips for the on-site system are keeping the surroundings secure and informal; this may encourage the respondents to think the interviewer is interested in communication. Explaining why the interview is important and stressing the advantage of the examination to the respondent is too important. Additionally, it is going to involve the usage of language that the respondent can comprehend. The length of the interview should be brief, and the respondent should be assured that identity is unknown and not discovered (Redding, 2008).

After covering all the relevant subjects, the interview ends. However, the interview can be stopped in advance if the respondent appears to be uncomfortable. It will also be proper to ensure that the interview is carried out in an area that has correct recording situations for an excellent recording to take place.

Scope and Breadth of Study

It is usually impractical to use a whole population in a study such as carrying out interviews. A sample is used as a representative of the population, allowing the research to be inferred from the rest of the population based on the results of the subset (Balbi & Triunfo, 2012). Sampling allows a study to be carried out without having to investigate the whole population, and it reduces cost, as well as the total workload. It is also easier to get high qualitative information if the sampling and data collection is done correctly.

This study will involve approximately 300 participants drawn from teens who are juveniles. Participants will be drawn from rural and urban judicial systems. The composition of this sample will include those who had multiple charges at arrest, injured victims, damaged property, involved in a robbery, legal problems at the time of case processing, were accomplices, felony charges, used weapons, among other factors (Balbi & Triunfo, 2012). Sampling is useful in gathering information because not every member of the population can respond.

A suitable sampling method would be purposive sampling in which researchers choose specific people from a population to use for a particular topic or study for a research project. It helps in collecting high-quality information (Owens, 2018). The idea behind this method is to concentrate on people who will be better at assisting with the relevant research. It is also known as judgmental sampling. It is aimed at gathering specific information from specific members of the population (Foley, 2018). Due to the purposive nature of judgmental sampling, researches will subjectively select juveniles on legislative waivers and officers working in the juvenile justice system. The responders will be chosen based on their knowledge and experience, and the selection is based on the judgment of the researcher.

The research instrument in gathering the data is an oral interview and fill in questionnaires. The oral interview is suitable for selecting qualitative information related to life experiences, perceptions, beliefs, and feelings about the different study questions (Owens, 2018).

The following is an outline of oral interview questions and a sample of the fill-in questionnaire:

Oral interview questions

  1. What is your responsibility in reducing delinquency rates?

  2. What are your feelings toward juveniles?

  3. What are some of the challenges faced while in line of duty, and how would like them changed?

  4. What are the common barriers that clients face? How can they be eliminated?

  1. How long have you been at the agency?

  2. What are some of the services received from the agency?

  3. Do you think the services received are changing your perception and behavior towards criminal activities?

  4. What are some of the challenges faced at the agency? Cite some ways of addressing them.

The study will be conducted over a period of six months, from data collection to analysis and presentation of results. Before beginning the study, it is crucial to obtain permission letters and approval from the court to be allowed to conduct the study among juveniles. Authorizations may take more time to be processed (Balbi & Triunfo, 2012). Interviews usually take time because it is vital to be patient with the juveniles to get credible and quality data. The analysis and review of the study are important parts of the study because they give credibility to the research.
