APA Formatted papers require the use Author-Date “citation markers” in your text

Use the author-date method of citation by inserting the surname of the author and the year of publication at the appropriate point in the text. Citations used in the body of your publication identify the source of information. In-text parenthetical citations are used to give credit to the authors whose ideas or thoughts are used within the document. These internal citations allow the reader to identify the source and locate the information being addressed.

APA requires you to include the publication year because APA users are concerned with the date of the article (the more current the better). APA uses a system that includes the author’s last name and the year of publication when you are paraphrasing another’s work.

Example: (Small, 2009).

However, for directly quoted citations one would use a format of (author, publication year, pg #) for books and journal articles (including those online) or (author, publication year, para #) for websites and blogs.

Example: (Small, 2009, p. 23).

Sources may include books and book chapters, journal or magazine articles, dissertations and theses, conference papers, government reports, films, websites, blogs and wikis, discussion boards, personal communications, and more.

Citations for Paraphrased Information

If you are paraphrasing a source (Stating its ideas in your own words), APA encourages you to include page numbers.

Example: Beginning of a sentence

Krankenstein (2006) reported that empirical research was identified.

Example: Middle of a sentence

After looking into the issue, Lynch (2007) quit.

Example: End of a sentence:

The report concluded were victims of cyberterrorism (Windhorst, 2004).

Note: If an article has three to five authors, write out all of the authors’ names the first time they appear. Then use the first author’s last name followed by “et al.”

For more information on APA in-text citation and when to use them review http://libguides.snhu.edu/c.php?g=157152&p=2052916

Introduce your essay, paper, milestone or final project topic here and any background necessary for the reader to place your ideas and analysis in an appropriate context. Compensation: Discretionary Benefits

Describe the advantages of discretionary benefits that Maersk may benefit from. Make sure the descriptions are clear and detailed by providing scholarly examples. Use scholarly research (references) to contextualize (related) to your claims (descriptions and statements). Don’t forget citations! Remember to use the “(Author, Year)” format.

Conclusion

The conclusion section should recap the major points of your essay, milestone, or final project. Perhaps more importantly, the conclusion should also interpret what you have written and what it means in the bigger picture.
