PART 1

A.

I would choose England as my country of preference to work in. I would choose England because it has a working culture similar to that of the USA. Also, most English people use English as their first language, making it easy for my young family and me to communicate, for we all speak in English. Thirdly, my company of choice, which is Barclays Bank is based in England, and headquarter is located in London, a city I had always wished to live in ("Global 500 2016," 2016).

B.

One advantage of selecting England over other Countries like German is the preference of the language. In England, for instance, the preferred language of communication is English, while in Germany, it is the preferred language is always German. Also, the weather in England is favorable, particularly how it is similar to the USA's weather. When the USA is going through summer, it would be summer in England; therefore, I will not miss my home too much in terms of climatic conditions and changes. Additionally, in England, there are business courses I can enroll in those great renowned universities such as Cambridge and Oxford offer, which may be difficult to get in other countries.

C.

I chose Barclays Bank Company headquartered in London, England. The Company is in the Financial sector and in the Commercial Banking and Saving industry.

Walmart Company is one of the USA's major multinational retail corporations headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, USA.

D.

Walmart Corporation is in the retail industry, while Barclays Bank is in the commercial and saving industry. Barclays Bank is a good company to work for as a financial consultant to solve financial liabilities for other companies. Also, Barclays Company ensures that their employees receive insurance policies and cater to their training costs. Moreover, Barclays Company ensures that their employees go on paid Holidays or Vacations, which helps boost their morale. Significantly, Barclays Company ensures that its employees have a life insurance cover, and they have paid sick leave. On the other hand, Walmart employees cannot be hired full-time as it is the case with Barclays. Also, Walmart's employees do not enjoy benefits such as medical cover, paid Holidays, or paid leaves.

PART TWO

A.

I did select two different companies that have different interest and objectivity in the global economy. Walmart Corporation is within the retail industry, while Barclays Bank is in the finance and banking industry. Additionally, I selected Barclays because working in a finance-related company outside of the USA has always been my dream (Neumark et al., 2008). On the other hand, choosing Walmart Corporation was on the preference that Walmart Company is renowned and celebrated retail corporations to the point that working with them could bring a lot of honor to me.

B.

Over the years, Walmart Corporation has dominated the retail sector and the General Merchandisers industry. It has been ranked as the best in service provision as compared to many other companies within the retail sector. The Walmart rank History in the Fortune ranking graph has been first for the last six years, which is an indication that the company is greatly achieving its financial success. For instance, in 2016, Walmart Corporation generated $14,694 million in profit more than any other company in the retail sector.

Barclays Bank is one of the major banks in the United Kingdom and has always found a place to be listed among the top companies in the Fortune 500 ranks. For instance, in 2016, Barclay's Bank was ranked number 181 in the Fortune 500 list, making it become one competitive multinational Bank in the banking and service industry. Unfortunately, in 2016 the success of Barclays bank's revenue had dropped down at a percentage rate of 8.1 %, making a drop of negative 75 million US dollars profit. The company has not been as consistent as it is with Walmart Corporation.

C.

Walmart Corporation is going to face stiff competition from upcoming online retail businesses such as Amazon and Ali Baba, which can reach many people through freight services. In the next five years, Walmart should have to change its employment policies to promote employees' morale and provide them with technological education that would help boost their online marketing and selling services (Ulrich, 2016).

However, for Barclays Company, a lot has to change, especially in the branding and marketing the company's brand name across the globe. The company is likely going to merge and acquire so many other companies in the banking industry to acquire sufficient control of different banks globally through merging and acquisition policies. The Companies success has been going down in years, and the retribution process must be placed to recuperate it from falling further.

D.

Walmart Corporation has been associated with various unethical issues, especially about the treatment of employees. Firstly, Walmart has been able to engage themselves in the ethical issue of underpaying their employees, limiting the benefits for the employees, providing poor work conditions for their employees, and violating the employee's basic human rights (Schaefer, 2014). This forms formidable accusations in terms of ethical respect and considerations of the employee.

The major ethical concerns facing Barclays bank is an issue to do with honesty and customer service. Subsequently, the Bank has been associated with dishonest practices and poor service provision, which has contributed towards many of its customers changing allegiance to other banks across the countries it operates.

E.

Walmart is focused on reducing emissions that endanger the environment throughout its operations, and they more focused on engaging its suppliers to reduce any emissions that would degrade the environment. Moreover, the Corporation uses its voice of influence in the global retail market to advocate for collective action to protect the environment. Further, Barclay's Bank is working closely with other companies through its Green Product Framework to ensure that environmental issues are addressed fully, and sustainable plans are initiated to protect the environment. Also, Barclays reduced the consumption of energy in the United Kingdom sometimes back in 2004.

F.

In Barclays bank, I can work as a financial consultant or finance manager for the Bank's customers. Also, I can render technological advice for the Bank and highlight the new technological trends that they can adopt to facilitate the Bank's growth. On the other hand, I can work as a sales manager at Walmart Corporation, making key sales decisions unique for the headquarter.

G.

For Barclays bank, they ensure that before enrolling overseas, the employee is acquitted with the culture and the language of the people they are going to work for. Also, it is the responsibility of Barclays Company to ensure that they provide working Visas and permits for their employees and the return ticket (Baum & Isidor, 2016). Furthermore, for Walmart Corporation, it tends to train and employ locals who will work for the Corporation in their own home country and only employs employees from the USA in other countries for top management positions. It provides the employees with return tickets, training as well as work permits.
