Management Hierarchy: Strategic, Managerial, and Operational. There are three levels of management hierarchy: Strategic, Managerial and Operational. Part 1: Review at least 4 academically reviewed art

Classmate 1:

Strategic, management and operational are the three levels in the order from top to bottom in a managerial hierarchy. Each of these levels will focus on specific functions to achieve the goals of the organizations and generate revenue in a more effective manner.

Strategic level is the highest level in the management hierarchy where the managers focus on setting up goals, creating plans and supervising the organization. Managers would analyze current market trends, customers’ preferences for different products and services, and they would develop a mission that targets certain types of customers or departments. Strategic level managers make decisions that affect the entire organization. Top executives of the organization such as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a Chief Operating Officer (COO) belong to this level (Jeremy, 2009).

Managerial level, which is otherwise known as administrative level, is the middle level in the management hierarchy where the managers focus on the allotment of organizational resources and activities to achieve the mission set by strategic level managers. Managerial level is responsible for creating a business model according to the requirements, estimating the resources and time required, and carry out the goals specified by strategic level managers (Jarrod, Annamaria & Urs, 2019).

Operational level is the lowest level in the managerial hierarchy where the managers focus on the processes, policies and technologies that are required for the business model created by administrative level managers (Anzengruber, Goetz, Nold & Woelfle, 2017). This level is responsible for daily management of the employees that produce the goods or provide the service. Operational managers are the ones that most employees interact with daily, and the performance of the managers would reflect on the performance of the employees (Bucur, 2013).

As an IT professional, I would use Information Technology (IT) at all levels of managerial hierarchy to improve the efficiency. The strategic level managers can use the data analytics tools that are available to them, to extract knowledge from their data and to take strategic decisions on the new products to launch and to target specific group of customers (Anzengruber, Goetz, Nold & Woelfle, 2017). Administrator level managers can use tools like Microsoft Project Management to track the progress of a project, its costs, resources and the time taken for its completion. Operational level managers need to research on current technologies and employ the software that works efficiently and flexibly at a lesser cost.

For each & every organization, it requires a differentiated structured management is required since in an organization, there are various types of policies, systems, procedures along with different types of employees. So as to manage these things, a differentiated and a definite management system is required to be followed by an organization.

Generally, the management levels within an organization are categorized into 3 types depending on hierarchical levels.

a.Higher

b.Middle

c.Lower

The above furnished levels of management requires a differential structural approach in order to implement in an organization.Depending on the hierarchy, the management levels & the individual numbers required for it will be considered by the creation of a structural pyramid that comprising of senior level, medium level & low level managers as top, middle & lower levels of the pyramid (Furrer et al,2007[1]).

The authors concluded that the hierarchical strategy which is followed by organization’s management that majorly focuses on the higher level managing activity along with its process of decision aking so as to reach the set objectives, vision & mission of the organization. Further, they studied and briefed in the regard of various set of policies within the structure of the organization which helps the decision makers so as to resolve different kinds of issues which may arises in day to day activity of the organization. In their study, they worked on different types of threats, weakness, strengths & opportunities to resolve the problems efficiently which enables a change in the structure of the organization(Palladan , 2018[2]).

In the present study, the authors reported that the managerial activity in terms of hierarchy lies within the policy & plan framing that helps in process of taking decisions by higher level management which  followed by medium & low level managers. The organisation's overall performance completely depends on these policies & procedures which are developed by higher level managers & follow up by medium & low level managers. Further, they specified a leadership frame work in which the leader’s activity affects the organizational performance. They concluded that the complete power & responsibility in the regard of activities within the organization & the relevant actions to be taken in that regard completely lies within the hierarchical management (Taucean,2016[3]).

In the present article, the authors related the functional activities of the lower level managers which includes the activity planning, activity implementation as well as the analysis of activity. Generally, now a days, the organizations requires a dynamic as well as competitive environment in order to perform their business activities. In the maintenance process, some vulnerable conditions  may arise in business & the decision should be taken spontaneously by the managers according to the situation with relatively less or no effect on organization. So as to deal with those effects, it is required to have procedures with comprehensive in nature (Battistoni, 2013[4]).

The fundamental & basic objective is to acquire specific set objectives, vision & mission with the dealing of different problems that may arise in the process of doing the business.  The managerial hierarchy heps the organization so as to achieve the specific set of objectives . The organization’s strategic hierarchy enables the organization in the aspect of planning in order to achieve the set goals & objectives. The activity of the management helps the managerial levels to perform various sorts of activities which are required for business & while the operational hierarchy enables them with analysis & implementation of policies, rules & regulations that are framed by managers.

As an IT professional, I will use the IT systems in order to retrieve the isolated data , for anaylising the data files, for estimating the sequences of proposed decisions, for making the decisions etc., in order to improve the efficacy of 3 levels of management hierarchy.
