Answer:

The Leader that I Admire is Lebron James. I know it sounds typical and maybe downright Corny, but Lebron James is a true Leader. Throughout these past two weeks we have been talking about what makes a Leader. We talked about Humility (not being Arrogant), Magnanimity (being a Visionary), virtue, selflessness and inclusion. I believe that he embodies all of those characteristics. One of the characteristics that makes James a great leader is his ability to help those around him. USA Today reports that Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said, “The biggest thing with LeBron and the reason why he deserves the leadership title is because of the person that he is. He's a giver. He's always looking to take care of people.

  1. Lebron says that being a great leader means giving back and he does that

  1. Lebron has been compared to people like Jordan, but Lebron can organize and make his teammates feel wanted, useful and welcome.

  1. He has an amazing work ethics.

  1. Former Cavs teammate Iman Shumpert told Complex in 2017 that James puts his training and body care above everything else. That to me is providing an example for his Teammates to follow.

  1. James has realized this ambition through the LeBron James Family Foundation, which will provide mentoring and full college scholarships to 1,100 underprivileged children in his hometown of Akron. He has also used his platform as the game’s most famous star to speak out on issues such as President Donald Trump’s immigration executive order and the relationship between law enforcement and black communities. And while he didn’t promise to end Cleveland’s 50-year championship drought, James did, in dramatic style, lead the Cavaliers to overturn a 3-1 series deficit against the favored Golden State Warriors.

  1. According to an article written by Jessica Franklyn in 2014 in WorldPress, LeBron James’ ability to be an effective leader in one situation compared to another demystifies the myth that “leaders are born not made.” The concept for the above sentence is known as contextual leadership. Contextual leadership is a new way of thinking about leadership because it challenges previous myths about leadership and the concept encourages a new breed of leadership that people were made to believe didn’t existed.

  1. Chapter 13 Talks about the Ethical Leadership theory. Its states that ethics is concerned with what leaders do and who they are (Norehouse p 336). He is an Ethical Leader.

  1. In the article “Athletes and/or Activists: LeBron James and Black Lives Matter” in the Journal of Sports and Social issues July 2017 issue it states that “ We found James is cautious and deliberate in his activism, moderating a message of consideration rather than revolution, contextualized by his brand and ambitions”.

  1. As a Leader we are supposed to look out for those who cannot look out for themselves. That is what Lebron Does. The Article goes on to sum it up quite nicely by Saying” For Athletes, the decision to engage publicly on potentially controversial topics such as civil rights, racial equality and social justice issues can be risky” but for Lebron this is part of who he is and this is why I admire him.
