In the health industry and the nursing department, there are various means by which a research medical profession can use to find knowledge specific to developing practice behaviours. The information provided below will illustrate the various methods of gaining knowledge in the medical field.

Clinical experience is one of the methods that the researcher can use to find knowledge about nursing. Clinical experience refers to volunteer experience in the medical industry. Many medical students spend a year before their undergraduate graduation and their first year of medical school obtaining clinical experience. Clinical experience provides a roadmap to patient care decisions and professional development. As one learns and gains experience in the medical field, they will recognize regularities and make medical predictions in time. Clinical experience is limited to a knowledge source as each professional knowledge is very shallow to be beneficial. The researcher can also use logical reasoning. This is where there will be a combination of experience, intellectual faculties and a formal system of thought. The researcher may apply inductive reasoning where they can develop overviews from specific observations. They can also employ deductive reasoning where they can advance explicit predictions from general values. These values are limited as the validity of reasoning is subject to the precision of the grounds with which one starts (Mariano et.al 2018).

The other method of finding knowledge is through assembled information. This entails benchmarking data that will facilitate medical practice. The researcher can use the cost date in making medical decisions. The researcher can assess the necessities for changing practice through medical error reports retrieved from risk data and quality improvement notes. However, these data may not provide a good mechanism to ascertain improvements in patient outcomes are as a result of their use (Mariano et.al 2018).
