It seems this source is arguing that the Electoral College is an important part of the US democracy and therefore should not be abolished. This source is using this evidence to support the argument: The Electoral College grants definitive electoral outcome, preserves federalism and encourage candidates to strengthen their parties. Personally, I believe the source is doing a bad job of supporting its arguments because it does not consider the principle of federalism. I will work to refute this counterargument in my essay by showing how the evidence provided by the article is weak.

It seems that this source is arguing that the Electoral College in the United States should be abolished. This source is using this evidence to support the argument: The Electoral College has negative impacts on regular governance, it eliminates third parties virtually, there is a possibility of tie and it is not essential for federalism. Personally, I believe the source is doing a good job of supporting its arguments because it provides enough evidence of the limitations of the Electoral College. I think this source will be very helpful in supporting my argument because it provides detailed information on the limitations of the Electoral College.

Edwards III, G. C. (2019). The Faulty Premises of the Electoral College. Retrieved from https://in.sagepub.com/sites/default/files/upm-binaries/91544_Chapter_8_Pages_from_Nelson_The_Presidency_and_the_Political_System_11e_2.pdf

It seems that this source is arguing that the Electoral College in the United States should be abolished. This source is using this evidence to support the argument: The Electoral College does not protect the interests of non-state-based minority, does not provide effective control of the electoral process, it is not essential for federalism and was not founded on the federal principle. Personally, I believe the source is doing a good job of supporting its arguments because it provides enough evidence of the limitations of the Electoral College. I think this source will be very helpful in supporting my argument because it provides significant insights on why the Electoral College should be abolished.
