Synthesis Course: Traumatology Research Paper: Synthesis Research paper (30 points total): 6 pages (not including abstract, references, or cover page), will be graded on: research of the topic of interest (should cover an explanation of issues, the context of the topic/position you are presenting, research evidence for support, evidence counter to your argument –with rebuttal, and conclusion), and a reference list in APA format, and writing quality. Grades will be based on the following rubric: No clear attempt was made to glean information from the sources and fully integrate the ideas into the paper premises 0 points | An attempt to include research was made, but links to premise were weak or missing 5 points | An attempt to include research was made, but lacked applicability, or contained significant holes in supporting arguments 10 points | Applicable research was used, but was lacking enough detail to fully support the paper premises 15 points | Applicable research was used, but more detail would have supported the premises put forth in the paper 17.5 points | Exemplary use of applicable and appropriate level of research detail 20 points |
