Virtual private network

The most popular way to securely access networks has indeed been through a virtual private network (VPN) (Boxley, 2019). VPN is undoubtedly the right solution for the protection of the network perimeter. VPNs permit users to enter into the internal server from a remote location securely over the Internet, creating a secure and virtual tunnel for passing the data. According to Cisco, VPNs are a cost-effective and easy way to connect remote users to the corporate network securely. The main reason why the VPN is the right solution for the security of the network perimeter is: the Internet is not protected and offers very little protection, which is a problem for the confidentiality of the information shared across such a world wide web. With VPN, you can verify authorized users, prevent threats at point of entry, provide a consistent user experience across devices, both on and off-premises, without creating a headache for your IT teams. Simplify management with a single agent ("Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client", 2020)

Hackers may try to steal data, but using VPNs, the scope is very less for the hackers to peek into the data exchanged. Since antivirus and firewalls are not enough for the job, VPN offers end to end tunneling and encryption. That's why choosing a secure and reliable VPN is important for any business.  You can install VPN on your mobile, but it is also important to understand that VPNs were not meant for a world of mobile devices, virtual teams, and third-party vendors tapping into networks; traditional VPNs were for an on-premises(Haber, 2020). Big organizations have updated their security strategies to accommodate what work looks like today and have moved beyond yesterday's VPNs, direct link approaches, and associated security risks. One alternative some organizations are now employing is proxy chaining (Boxley, 2019).

In my conclusion, VPN is security software that is safe to use and install on your computer or mobile device from a trustworthy source. It is one software that any company would allow installing on your organization's computer or phone. By making a few simple changes to your computers and accounts, you can maintain security against outside parties' unwanted attempts to access your data and protect your privacy from those you don't consent to share your information with.
