The issue of ergonomic touches on several aspects pertaining to how one can work comfortably using computer systems to improve their productivity. One of the significant effects of overusing computers is developing eyesight and posture problems. Some job opportunities involve the continuous use of computers where employees are forced to work with the systems for hours. An example is a job that involves continuous customer service activities that require long working hours of sitting and looking at the screen.

Due to too much blue light that is emitted by computer screens, the employee starts to develop sight problems in the form of nausea. One of the main side effects of this issue is chronic headaches. The individual’s sight gets worse as they continue to operate the computers. Other health effect is spine injuries due to posture problems and bulging when using computer systems for long hours.

Since it is not possible to allocate every employee to other departments that do not involve too much use of computer systems, the best solution is to develop computer screens that produce reduced blue light that has little or no effect on the user and ergonomic chairs that are good for the spine. This way, the cases of sight problems due to much exposure from computers and long-term back injuries will reduce. There are many other problems that computer users face while using them. Computer developers should invest in developing user-friendly systems, and companies or individuals should always educate themselves on the optimal way to operate the computer systems.
