Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to provide two outlines in preparation for the final portfolio in ORG561-1. The first outline will be based on the research and implementation strategy for ABC Inc. The second outline will be a critical analysis of Managing Diversity and Inclusion: An International Perspective.

Outline #1

  1. Introduction

    1. For any organization to make strides towards diversity, equality, and inclusion; there must be an understanding of what these mean, acknowledgement of current shortcomings, and leadership buy-in for real change.

    2. Current state of ABC, Inc.

      1. Today, ABC, Inc. is a booming and mid-sized international organization. ABC has its global headquarters in Denver, CO and all manufacturing and production operations take place in both Mexico and Vietnam.

      2. “Board composition: six men and one woman, all U.S. citizens. Leadership team: four men and one woman; one ethnic minority, all U.S. citizens. Employee demographics: 60% men/40% women; median age 50; management roles 80% men/20% women; 40% of the workforce non-U.S. citizens” (CSU Global, 2020)

    3. Purpose of investigation, need for change

  2. Diversity

    1. Define diversity

      1. Diversity: differences in existence within a defined setting. There can be diversity in a number of settings; species across an existing ecology, brands within a market, ideas in a discussion, or experiences within a group of people. Diversity should never be used in reference to an individual as this is only in reference to an item or individual as a part of a larger structure – a person in and of themselves cannot be labeled as diverse.” (DePlonty, 2020)

    2. Business impact of lack of diversity

    3. Current statistics in ABC, Inc.

  3. Equality

    1. Diversity vs. equality

    2. Business benefits of true equality

  4. Inclusivity

    1. Define inclusion

    2. Why is it important

    3. Committee creation

  6. Conclusion
