IDENTIFICATION MANAGEMENT

Single Sign-On (SSO)

It offers the ability to the user to login to a network system only once and be able to access the authorized domain's resources without having to re-authenticate the duration of the session. However, the multiple access ends after the user signs out from the system. SSO process is achievable by the use of IP protocols with cookies when the site shares a common domain in the DNS. Users can generate strong passwords (Garg & Singh, 2016).

Identity as a Service (IDaaS)

It is a technological functioning category that involves the provision of a variety of cloud-hosted services that ensures identity and access management. Besides, it filters unauthorized users and hackers from accessing users' sensitive data. It offers services such as SSO, identity management, and multifactor authentication process. It ensures the users are the individuals they claim to be (Ping, 2020)

Federated Identity Management (FIDM)

It involves protocols and technologies arrangement between systems to enable users to access to the networks of the system in the group by use of the same credentials. It offers convenience to the users of the system networks by eliminating access control barriers to data and resources. It reduces costs since multiple companies can share a unit application.

Security Assertion Mark-up Language (SAML)

It allows identity providers to communicate with service providers using a standardized language to pass user credentials. It simplifies the process of authorization and authentication to users, service providers, and identity providers. It links the three parties in the authentication process. Therefore, it is a secure method of ensuring access control of the user between service providers and identity providers (Jamsa, 2013).
