CLASS PRESENTATION ASSIGNMENT

You will each be given different topics to present. The topics that I have chosen follow the weekly topics in the syllabus and serve to enhance the class discussion and education of all students. You will be required to do the following:

  1. Make a 7-10 minute presentation using Power Points slides, videos or any other visual media that you think will help to enrich the class discussion. Following this, you will conduct a class discussion for approximately 10 minutes.

  2. For each topic, you will research and present various thoughts and/or ideas and cite your references.

  3. Since each topic varies widely, feel free to be creative in your approach. You might want to give examples, discuss techniques, discuss the history of the topic and/or anything that you find of interest.

  4. I want you to offer your opinions and your own ideas based on the research that you have done so that it fosters a class discussion.

DELIVERABLES:

  1. You will submit your visual media to me prior to class.

  2. You will write a 2-3 page paper, 12 point font, one inch margins, that reflects the content that you present in class. In this paper you will outline your response to the topic, your ideas and thoughts about the topic and any relevant research. For all research please cite your sources APA style. I am interested in how you approached this topic and what you learned as a result of your research.

This presentation guideline is purposefully vague, because I am interested in your approach to each topic; be as creative as you want to be, offer your own ideas, but please make sure that you also present solid research, not hearsay about the topic.

This assignment is worth 20% of your final grade.

TOPIC OF THE PAPER:-

  1. Describe the law and ethics regarding assisted suicide and some controversies that surround this issue.

Use the textbook as a source of information tied in with your research and cite all sources.
