I need to respond to two peers, see attachment:

In your response posts to at least two peers, explain how the model you recommended using compares with the model your peers recommended using and how it would influence the decision-making process and outcome. You may use the following questions to help develop your response:

What can examining a business problem through the lens of different decision-making models teach us about decision making?

What other business decisions or situations would your peers’ recommended decision-making models be most appropriate to use for, and why?

What other business decisions or situations would your recommended decision-making model be most appropriate to use for, and why?

Do you have questions for your peers about why they recommended the model they did?

Peer One Post:

Both models would be great help with making the decision between Myra and Michael. Using the Intuitive decision making model, you can use data, and past information to determine if the skills in each candidate, have worked in the past with our company. As well as if it something you see your company using in the future.

On the other hand using the rational decision making model. We get to use an 8 step process to determine what skills we need as a lead to take over this project. Using this model you get the opportunity to weigh out your decisions, the pros and cons of each before. Then once you make your selection you get a chance to evaluate your choice.

In this case I would go with Rational decision making. We have identified the problem, now we can move on to the next step of evaluating what both candidates bring to the table. How their skills can be an asset, as a lead on this launch both looking at their pros and cons, and aligning them with what our company's future plans are. And then make a strong decision, and evaluate that decision.

Peer Two Post:

As an organizational consultant for the SNHU Pet Supply company, I have been asked to give my recommendation of whom out of the two short-listed candidates is more qualified to take on the role of leading a new initiative to expand the company's online presence. This task will be challenging, as both candidates possess different skillsets that could greatly benefit our company, as well as a few challenges that need to be closely considered. By comparing and contrasting the two decision making models, rational and intuitive, I will establish which process will enable me to effectively reach a decision.

By applying the rational decision-making model to determine the best candidate for the job, I will follow the eight-step process that will allow my decision to be made more efficiently. In step one, I identified the problem: determining who out of the two candidates, Myra and Michael, are more qualified for the job. In the second step, I established the decision making criteria, such as candidate experience, acquired knowledge, and qualifications. In the third step of the decision-making process, I used the established criteria to weigh my options, and consider which qualifications amongst the two candidates will be better suited for the job. Next, I will generate alternatives: although Myra is a 15-year veteran of our company and has diligently worked her way up from an intern to the now, product manager, Michael has more knowledge of the specific technology that will be used to implement and launch the on-line initiative. I will then evaluate the generated alternatives, which in turn, will allow me to better make my decision. In the next step, I will implement my decision, and then evaluate that decision in the final step of the process, to ensure that the right person for the job was chosen.

In the intuitive decision-making process, I will make my recommendation by applying my accumulated knowledge from past experiences, patterns, and concepts. I will use my intuition, combined with other methods to determine who is better suited for the job.

When considering both decision making processes, it is my recommendation that the rational decision-making model will be best suited to make the hiring decision. This process allows for the decision to be made both quickly and efficiently. Reversely, the intuitive decision making model relies strictly on one's intuition rather than conscious reasoning, resulting in the high probability of significant errors. The rational decision-making process allows for an objective approach resulting in a high quality decision with no guesswork.
