Position desired: Registered Nurse (Nursing Residency Program)
Dear Loma Linda Recruiter,
Three years ago, I experienced a transcendental metamorphosis that led to my intense desire to dedicate my life to helping others through the field of nursing. Two battles culminated in one defining moment in my life, resulting in a change so powerful that it precipitated my life perspectives to be redrawn and redefined. From one grieving process (mother loses battle to cancer) to another grieving process (close friend loses battle against Mental Health Illness), the hardships I experienced brought me great clarity and illumination. These tragedies taught me that true healing power comes from not only medical advances, but also from within, from the soul, from Love. It is this holistic medical view that leads me to believe the Loma Linda RN Residency Program will be a perfect fit for me.
Nursing is the physical application of this power called “healing”. I now understand that physical interventions are not sufficient to save lives; the Holistic approach is the answer. Everything happens for a reason! I now understand that the hardships we face are always great life lessons. I took my life lessons and continue to apply them to the patient care I provide everyday. I might’ve not been able to save my Mother, or my close friend. But now at work (correctional health) I am able to identify and detect health issues early enough to act in time. Now, I understand and quickly identify the signs of depression early enough to prevent a suicide. I have heard about the magnificent way in which Loma Linda has fused science and spirituality together, by incorporating this philosophy system into its foundation of care practices. This is the reason why I strongly desire to join this RN Residency Program. I want to form part of a team in which I will have the opportunity to really make an impact, to serve my purpose.
My fascination with helping others and saving lives defines a great part of who I am. Arising as a CNA, then becoming an LVN and now with most pride, as an RN, I have worked in a diverse array of roles in: Hospice and Home Health, Sub-Acute Care and Rehabilitation, to currently Corrections. I feel fulfilled in my work serving others and caring for individuals when they are at their weakest, and I hope to continue that service at Loma Linda. My objective is simple; to apply the skills I have learned, continuously striving to improve as many lives as possible.
It would be an honor to be given an opportunity to be a part of this nursing residency program and dream team. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to set up a date where we can discuss your expectations regarding this position. My phone number is 909-530-7755 and my email address is [email protected]. I’m grateful for your time and consideration.
Regards,
